Although there are certainly costs involved in changing over to a non-traditional form of home energy, you might find that it is worth your while in the long term to make the switch.  Energy bills don’t seem to be showing any signs of going down dramatically any time soon and people who are struggling now might find themselves having to learn to make some budget adjustments to maintain the status quo.

There are already government incentives being offered for people to make the switch to more efficient methods of heating and cooling, but some of those opportunities are tied directly to actually purchasing and installing more of the same traditional heating equipment, but with higher efficiency ratings.

It isn’t for everyone, but you might want to read more about the possibilities of wind power and solar power.  You will have to decide if it is an option that makes sense for your particular situation, but you might like what you see.
