How To Avoid Corner Shower Rod Mishaps

Hanging corner shower rods may appear to be just a mundane task for you. However, you might feel differently once you have tried mounting the wrong kind of rod in your bathroom. In order to avoid that, consider the following tidbits when buying a rod for your shower.

For starters, it is important that you find the most suitable rod for your needs. Basically, there are just two rules in making your preference. For the first one, you will need to consider the weight of the curtain that you will hang on it. The heavier the curtain, the bigger your rod should be. This way, you are guaranteed that the rod will be able to support the curtain’s weight. The second consideration concerns the length of the rod. Some bathroom configurations do not work for the customary rod sizes hence why it is highly advised to take measurements of the corner showers where the rod will be placed. You certainly would not want to buy something that would be too long or too short for your bracket.

Another issue that you should address with regards to installing your curtain rod is its leveling. Some people would just drill the bracket holes wherever they prefer without considering the size of the screw or mounting hardware that will be used, and the alignment of the rod. To avoid having a sloping curtain rod, use a common point of reference during the alignment process.

Take time to check if your rod has enough support. Remember that unsupported frames tend to droop in the center and might pull the end of the brackets off the wall. That is not a look that you would like to achieve. In order to prevent that from happening, consider getting an anchor for additional support. Also, keep in mind to use screws rather than nails whenever fastening something to the wall.
Lastly, think twice in adding unnecessary accessories to your curtain. They may look good and convenient but they will also add weight to the rod. So if you think that your rod is not strong enough to begin with, then might as well buy another rod, or discard the accessories altogether.
